Senior Data Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and maintain analytical pipelines and reporting solutions utilizing BigQuery and MariaDB.

• Craft advanced, high-performance SQL queries to extract insights from extensive datasets.

• Utilize AI and machine learning capabilities to enhance analytics workflows and produce more intelligent outputs.

• Employ AI-driven development tools (Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor) to expedite your workflow and achieve superior results.

• Create internal tools and automation using Python, FastAPI, and contemporary frameworks.

• Clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights.

• Comprehend and document data architecture, lineage, and the flow of information across various systems.

• Collaborate on business process analysis and improvements in process design driven by data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in data analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related discipline.

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with a strong grasp of joins, window functions, and CTEs; experience with BigQuery and MariaDB is highly preferred.

• Strong skills in Python and/or JavaScript, comfortable in building pipelines, internal tools, APIs, and automation—not merely scripting.

• In-depth understanding of data architecture, including database structure, data flow, and schema evolution.

• Practical experience with AI/ML, staying updated with the latest advancements (LLMs, generative AI, embeddings) and knowing how to apply them effectively.

• Proficient with AI-powered development tools such as Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor, or similar technologies.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex analyses to anyone present.

• Self-sufficient and self-managing, taking full ownership of your work without needing guidance on next steps.

• Ambitious and committed to continuous improvement, actively seeking new skills, tools, and techniques independently.

• A public GitHub profile showcasing examples of your work (personal projects, contributions, experiments).
