This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the objectives of Digistore24.
• Assist in overseeing the entire data landscape, including architecture, technology choices, policies, procedures, cost management, and alerting.
• Ensure the data infrastructure is efficient and scalable to fulfill business demands.
• Enhance analytics capabilities and lead the creation of predictive models and data visualization tools.
• Collaborate and synchronize with various teams regarding business and technical requirements.
• Work towards clear goals and objectives to guarantee alignment with organizational priorities.
• Maintain the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data analysis processes and outcomes.
• Apply best practices for data acquisition, integration, transformation, and delivery.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert in data analytics and engineering, providing support and guidance as necessary.
• Quick learner capable of bridging business and technical perspectives.
• Experience using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, preferably GCP) for data management and processing.
• Proficient with data storage solutions such as BigQuery, Redshift, and Snowflake for optimal data storage and querying.
• Ability to work effectively across teams, manage multiple workstreams, and navigate uncertainty.
• Utilize ETL tools like dbt, SQLMesh, and GCP DataForm for data transformation and preparation for analysis.
• Skilled in creating and maintaining dashboards, building interactive visualizations, and generating actionable business insights using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar tools.
• Competent in both project management and operational tasks, with a knack for delegation and coaching.
• Self-motivated individual capable of making independent decisions and solving problems creatively.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Educational background in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a data analyst or data engineering position.
• Strong communication skills: fluent in English, both written and spoken, to engage with our international team.
• Experience with ERP migrations, tax data marts, or procurement automation; collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate self-service analytics for non-technical users.
• Familiarity with event-tracking and product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA4, Segment, Snowplow).
• Competence in building and analyzing funnels, cohorts, and experiments to guide product roadmap and go-to-market strategy.
• Ability to balance statistical rigor with speed and effectively communicate trade-offs and uncertainties.
• This position is not suited for candidates with less than 3 years of experience in relevant data roles.
• Not suitable for those who view software development solely as the act of writing code.
• Not ideal for individuals who cannot write high-quality code without a modern framework or require Windows for development.
• Individuals who make code changes without understanding the implications should not apply.
