This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, negotiate, and finalize agreements related to SaaS, AI, and associated services—including security, privacy, support, and professional services—leveraging your expertise and judgment to ensure terms align with Rubrik’s accepted risk standards and offerings.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, engineering, revenue, support, professional services, and other departments to meet business goals.
• Develop innovative solutions to successfully close complex deals while adhering to timelines and ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions and negotiations, particularly in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
• Keep abreast of the legal and regulatory environment, especially within industry sectors such as public sector, financial services, and healthcare.
• Navigate the constantly changing landscape of AI terms and conditions—including acceptable use policies, data training limitations, model output liability, ownership, and AI governance—as well as AI regulatory changes from the EU AI Act to emerging frameworks in the U.S.
• Excel in supporting a quota-driven sales environment by effectively prioritizing tasks and communicating proactively to manage high-volume and competing demands.
• Cultivate authentic, collaborative relationships throughout the organization with a focus on Sales.
• Develop a deep understanding of Rubrik’s products to negotiate with confidence, creativity, and flexibility.
• Empower the Sales team through both formal and informal training sessions to enhance speed, collaboration, and a seamless customer experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with commercial contracts in-house at a technology company or at a firm specializing in technology agreements.
• Ideally, at least 3 years of experience negotiating cloud-based service agreements with enterprise or highly regulated clients.
• A strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations—you can differentiate between GDPR and CCPA.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning contractual terms—such as data provenance, IP ownership of AI outputs, indemnification for AI-generated content, and responsible AI usage terms.
• Ability to perform well under pressure while working within a quota and deadline-driven sales team.
• A proactive attitude, self-starter mentality, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves, paired with a customer-first approach and sound legal and business judgment.
• A sense of humor, professionalism, and a low-ego, positive attitude with a collaborative spirit are essential.
• Credentials: Active law license and/or J.D. degree or equivalent experience in complex technology transactions.
• Bonus points for experience with two-tier channel and marketplace sales.
