Senior Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Developing, programming, and commissioning automation control systems from initial concept to full implementation.

• Creating virtual commissioning environments utilizing Emulate3D.

• Building PLC logic programs from the ground up.

• Designing SCADA and HMI applications using the Ignition and FactoryTalk Optix Studio platforms.

• Crafting and documenting comprehensive electrical control systems, producing electrical schematics and panel assembly drawings with AutoCAD Electrical.

• Collaborating with various cross-functional engineers to turn concepts into reality.

• Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate conveyor control solutions, automated material handling equipment, and autonomous vehicles.

• Creating and maintaining electrical schematic drawings.

• Developing and debugging control system software.

• Providing technical expertise in controls and electrical engineering.

• Offering on-site commissioning support as needed.

• Conducting necessary electrical field wiring.

• Performing mechanical installations when required.

• Carrying out design and code reviews.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.

• Over 10 years of experience in control systems engineering with a Bachelor’s degree or more than 7 years with a Master’s degree.

• Proficiency in developing PLC and HMI programs from scratch.

• Skilled in reading schematics and troubleshooting existing control systems, including software debugging and electrical troubleshooting.

• Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting VFDs.

• Proficient with Studio 5000/RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, and AutoCAD.

• Capable of leading and/or assisting in project definition, specification, purchasing, and follow-through to installation.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities in both software and hardware.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

• This position may require up to 50% travel.

• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting servo drives, SQL management experience, Inductive Automation Ignition experience, understanding of computer networking concepts and architecture, and warehouse operations management experience or familiarity with warehouse management and/or execution systems.
