Senior Consultant, Regulatory and Rate Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Support CEG’s consulting division in implementing client projects centered on electric and water utility policy analysis and regulatory processes.

• Contribute to the execution of written and technical tasks aligned with overarching client project objectives.

• Prepare memos, comments, and expert testimonies to advocate for client positions in regulatory matters.

• Create, utilize, and sustain custom spreadsheet-based tools and other analytical platforms.

• Review and analyze comments or testimonies submitted during regulatory proceedings.

• Draft discovery requests directed at electric utilities.

• Investigate policies, regulations, and tariffs; summarize findings through memos or presentations.

• Perform qualitative or quantitative analyses of economic and policy impacts.

• Assist senior team members during client meetings and presentations.

• Work collaboratively with team members in defining and composing proposals.

• Participate in industry events and conferences for networking and/or presenting opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 – 3 years of general industry experience (Consultant).

• 4 – 6 years of general industry experience (Senior Consultant).

• Preference for experience in cost of service and rate design, utility investment proposals, general rate case proceedings, proactive distribution system planning, flexible service connections, and transportation electrification.

• An advanced degree in energy and environmental policy, economics, engineering, or a related discipline.

• Strong quantitative abilities and advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Background or experience in technical or legal writing and research (for Senior Consultant).

• Capable of multitasking and prioritizing essential tasks while managing conflicting demands under tight deadlines.
