Senior Consultant – Power BI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate customer discovery sessions to identify reporting needs.

• Collaborate with customers on Power BI Licensing, and comprehend the advantages and limitations of each licensing option.

• Develop efficient star schema data models for Power BI, ensuring the inclusion of accurate calculated columns and measures.

• Design Power BI solutions for clients, which involve importing data from various sources, creating reports and dashboards, and constructing suitable data elements using DAX and source queries.

• Assist customers in deploying Power BI solutions to the Power BI service, including Gateways, DirectQuery, DataFlows, and Data Updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience with data and business intelligence solutions within the Microsoft Business Intelligence toolset (SSRS, Power BI, PowerPivot (Excel), or PerformancePoint), or other vendor Business Intelligence tools (Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, SAP).

• Proficient understanding of TSQL, data modeling, and reporting utilizing Power BI or other Microsoft tools.

• Proven experience in creating comprehensive Power BI report solutions that address business inquiries with linked content, drilldowns, and nested parameters.

• Expertise in dynamic measure designs utilizing advanced DAX techniques.

• Familiarity with data mashups and transformations using Power Query/M language.

• Leverage the Databricks platform for the development, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines and workflows.

• Capability to articulate visual choices and visual interactions effectively.

• Design, develop, and implement user interfaces to promote ease of use with minimal knowledge required from the functional work group utilizing the database.

• Strong ability to gather requirements and conduct focus groups to identify processes essential for business growth.
