Senior Consultant, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• You will play a vital role as a technical contributor in the execution of complex projects, merging extensive engineering expertise with the ability to work autonomously within your designated responsibilities.

• You will assume full ownership of your deliverables, ensuring they conform to high standards of quality, security, and performance, while working closely with colleagues and client teams to accomplish project objectives.

• You will implement contemporary DevOps practices to design, construct, and optimize solutions that enable clients to maximize their cloud platform benefits.

• You will actively participate throughout the complete project lifecycle, from refining requirements and shaping solutions to delivering functional systems and conveying results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• You will also offer guidance and informal mentoring to junior engineers, contributing to the enhancement of team capabilities.

• When not engaged in client projects, you may assist with pre-sales activities, including analyzing technical requirements, collaborating with our bid team, and helping to create compelling proposals.

• You will have opportunities to interact with Ensono Digital’s internal competencies—sharing knowledge, refining our delivery methods, and broadening your expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in designing and constructing advanced CI/CD pipelines from the ground up using two or more platforms, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.

• Proficiency in creating reusable pipeline templates, including Azure DevOps templates, GitHub Actions reusable workflows, and infrastructure modules like Terraform.

• Ability to integrate automated quality checks, testing, and security scanning into pipelines.

• Hands-on commercial experience with at least one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform or cloud-native tooling (ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation).

• Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters for production workloads at scale.

• Skills in configuring application routing using CDN, load balancers, and ingress controllers for both single and multi-region architectures.

• Knowledge of hub-and-spoke network architectures and their applications in cloud environments.

• Experience working with containerized applications hosted locally and on cloud-native PaaS services, such as Azure Container Apps or AWS ECS Fargate.

• Ability to support security architecture and contribute to defining naming conventions, patterns, and practices.

• Experience in identifying and implementing build pipelines to validate non-functional requirements, including performance, security, and compliance.

• Proficient in writing and maintaining tests for infrastructure code within an existing framework.

• Ability to analyze security scan results, particularly focusing on Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) reports.

• Skills in debugging and troubleshooting applications in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Node.js.

• Competence in effectively resolving technical challenges on complex projects and delivering quality outcomes within your area of responsibility.

• Strong communication skills, encompassing the presentation of technical solutions, collaboration in cross-functional teams, and engagement with stakeholders.

• Capacity to provide informal guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.

• Awareness of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance project tasks such as documentation, refactoring, testing, and debugging.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, is desirable.
