This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Provide support for corporate governance and entity management within a growing insurance organization, ensuring that legal and compliance records are precise, well-organized, and prepared for audits.
• Prepare, file, and oversee corporate insurer and individual licensing and regulatory submissions across various jurisdictions, guaranteeing full compliance with both state and federal regulations.
• Take ownership of and monitor critical deadlines, proactively prioritizing tasks to ensure the timely completion of recurring submissions, reporting duties, and special projects.
• Identify and introduce enhancements to processes and recordkeeping systems to boost efficiency, transparency, and scalability in the legal and compliance sector.
• Hold significant responsibility and visibility within a large corporate structure while having the opportunity to influence and refine governance processes.
• Offer counsel and guidance to corporate personnel in a range of activities to safeguard the Corporation's interests from a legal standpoint and to avert potential legal disputes.
• Ensure corporate adherence to all pertinent federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
• Assist in researching, reviewing, analyzing, drafting, and approving various documents, policies, procedures, and obligations to which the Company is or may become a party.
• Coordinate non-claims litigation and disputes, which includes managing document collection, collaborating with outside counsel, and tracking the status of matters.
• Stay informed about current insurance and regulatory developments relevant to the business, actively identifying potential impacts.
• Experience in supporting corporate governance and legal operations, including the maintenance of corporate records, management of entity documentation, and facilitation of board or committee processes.
• Proficiency in insurer and individual licensing and regulatory filings, with familiarity in systems such as SERFF, NIPR, NAIC UCAA, and state insurance department platforms.
• Proven ability to enhance processes and recordkeeping systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility.
• Strong organizational capabilities to track deadlines, prioritize competing demands, and manage both recurring and ad hoc tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Working knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements (preferably in auto insurance law) and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Experience in conducting legal research, analysis, and drafting of documents, policies, and procedures.
• Capability to provide practical guidance to internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and support business objectives.
• Proficiency in legal and business tools, including NILS, Lexis, Microsoft Office Suite, and document management systems.
• Solid knowledge of corporate files.
• Excellent communication abilities to clearly convey complex concepts both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with litigation coordination and evidence gathering, including collaboration with internal teams and external counsel.
• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry is required.
• Ability to utilize AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to assist with daily tasks.
• Skills in assessing AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias.
• Experience in integrating AI into workflows to enhance efficiency or insights.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted research, summarization, and content generation.
• Understanding of responsible AI usage, including ethics and data protection.
