Senior Cloud Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance our Kubernetes platform, ensuring it remains highly available and scalable.

• Utilize infrastructure/configuration as code to automate operational tasks. (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Flux, Kustomize)

• Improve observability and logging with the help of OpenTelemetry and Elastic.

• Develop automated solutions that promote application resiliency and self-healing capabilities.

• Manage Server Operating Systems, including both Windows and Linux.

• Administer Web Servers (IIS 10).

• Diagnose production incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement reliability enhancements.

• Assess and adopt cloud-native technologies to boost platform efficiency.

• Collaborate with security teams to uphold best practices for container security and compliance.

• Work with multi-cluster management solutions like Rancher, Cluster API (CAPI), or other Kubernetes fleet management tools.

• Oversee Kubernetes infrastructure on Azure and vSphere.

• Engage in an on-call rotation to support platform operations and address incidents.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; we will not sponsor employment visas for this position, now or in the future.

• Generally requires over 5 years of relevant professional experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or operations roles.

• At least 3 years of experience managing multi-cluster Kubernetes environments (Rancher & Cluster API).

• Practical experience with Azure and vSphere as Kubernetes infrastructure providers.

• Proficiency in Linux administration and familiarity with container runtimes (Docker, containerd).

• Strong understanding of RBAC, security policies, and secrets management in Kubernetes.

• Expertise in Terraform and Ansible.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Elastic, PRTG, and Dynatrace.

• Experience with Public Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services).

• Knowledge of .Net website functionalities.

• Experience with load balancers (F5 LTM, Azure Load Balancer).

• Understanding of IPv4/IPv6, FTP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, HTML, XML.

• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for platform support.

• Previous experience in SRE or Platform Engineering roles.

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
