Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, execute, and sustain scalable cloud infrastructure primarily utilizing AWS.

• Architect and manage highly reliable APIs, web services, and data ingestion pipelines.

• Lead the standardization of infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and relevant tools).

• Design and enhance event-driven and queue-based systems to handle high-volume telemetry and distributed processing tasks.

• Develop scalable and secure serverless and containerized architectures when appropriate.

• Establish best practices for infrastructure concerning reliability, observability, disaster recovery, security, cost optimization, and deployment automation.

• Support compliance initiatives including SOC2 and GDPR regulations.

• Design and maintain secure networking architectures, IAM strategies, and practices for secrets management.

• Collaborate with firmware, backend, AI, and product engineering teams to ensure platform scalability and operational excellence.

• Assess and recommend suitable database technologies based on workload needs and trade-offs.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and engineering processes.

• Participate in operational troubleshooting and incident response for production systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in professional software and infrastructure engineering.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS in operating production systems at scale.

• Strong background in designing and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure.

• Significant expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.

• In-depth understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience in building and managing data ingestion pipelines utilizing queues, streams, and serverless services.

• Strong knowledge of networking, security, IAM, DNS, TLS, and API architecture.

• Experience in supporting SOC2-compliant environments and familiarity with GDPR regulations.

• Solid understanding of database technologies and architectural trade-offs, including relational databases, time-series databases, object storage systems, and caching systems.
