Senior Cloud IoT Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain cloud-native backend services that facilitate residential applications, device integrations, and platform functionalities.

• Create scalable APIs, asynchronous workflows, and service integrations utilizing contemporary backend technologies.

• Participate in architectural decisions related to microservices, event-driven architectures, Kubernetes-based operational environments, and cloud infrastructure.

• Enhance and support device-to-cloud interactions utilizing AWS IoT Core and associated platform services.

• Elevate reliability, scalability, observability, and operational preparedness throughout the Infinity platform.

• Collaborate with mobile, web, product, QA, and platform teams to ensure high-quality end-to-end delivery.

• Diagnose production issues, spearhead root-cause analyses, and assist in implementing sustainable solutions and long-term fixes.

• Contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure automation, release engineering, and secure software delivery methodologies.

• Recognize technical risks early and assist in shaping implementation strategies and proof-of-concepts for new functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Hard Science (Physical, Life, or Applied Science).

• A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience, including over 4 years developing backend or cloud-native systems in a production environment.

• At least 3 years of practical experience with Kubernetes.

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Cloud IoT Services (AWS, Azure, GCP IoT) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK).
