Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create, construct, and deploy AWS-oriented infrastructure solutions that meet application and business needs by choosing suitable services and configurations to ensure scalable and dependable systems.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to comprehend requirements and convert them into effective AWS service designs, transitioning the current model from reactive execution to proactive solution ownership.

• Implement and standardize infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring uniformity across environments (development, UAT, production) and minimizing manual configuration errors.

• Assess and integrate AWS services (such as CloudFront, managed services, and event-driven architectures) to enhance system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Design and execute auto-scaling strategies, redundancy, and high-availability configurations to boost system resilience and performance.

• Establish best practices to maintain infrastructure consistency across environments, bridging deployment gaps between development, testing, and production.

• Assist in troubleshooting infrastructure issues, pinpoint root causes, and implement enhancements to prevent future occurrences.

• Offer infrastructure support in alignment with global teams, including collaboration with teams operating in the Netherlands time zone as needed.

• Mentor and guide current team members, enhancing overall AWS knowledge and helping to establish more robust internal standards and practices.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation while contributing to the enhancement of operational processes and workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in designing and implementing AWS infrastructure within production environments.

• Practical experience with fundamental AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch, and familiarity with more advanced services like CloudFront or event-driven architectures.

• Extensive hands-on experience using Terraform (or similar Infrastructure as Code tools), including the creation of reusable and scalable infrastructure across various environments.

• Capability to translate application or engineering requirements into AWS-based solutions, with a solid grasp of cloud design patterns and best practices.

• Experience in implementing scalable, fault-tolerant architectures with a strong understanding of redundancy and performance optimization.

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows, with the ability to enhance infrastructure delivery processes.

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and infrastructure operations.

• Working knowledge of networking concepts, including VPC design, load balancing, and service connectivity.

• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues in complex distributed environments.

• Experience collaborating closely with application or backend engineering teams to address infrastructure requirements.

• Willingness to support teams across different time zones when necessary, particularly in collaboration with teams based in Europe.
