Senior Cloud Engineer – Principal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Support the design and deployment of the BMC2 cloud for the ABMS Digital Infrastructure Network Designer & Deployer initiative.

• Create automation pipelines.

• Design hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Facilitate secure data and network flows.

• Assist in cross-domain solutions.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to multidisciplinary teams.

• Align cloud computing goals with project objectives.

• Mentor members of the engineering team.

• Oversee cloud testing, monitoring, and incident response activities.

• Ensure deployment of a resilient and secure network.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a related field with 8 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in the same fields with 10 years of experience.

• Proficiency in cloud orchestration tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Kubernetes).

• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols.

• Expertise in zero-trust architectures.

• Excellent communication skills with a capability to promote collaboration among technical teams.

• U.S. citizenship required.

• Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.

• Experience in Network and/or Security Operations Center and familiarity with the DoD's acquisition and test enterprise is preferred.

• Background with commercial-grade cloud and optical networks is desirable.

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Cloud+, AWS/Microsoft/Google Cloud/IBM/Cisco-specific cloud certifications are preferred.

• Understanding of the DOD Acquisition process is a plus.

• SAFe Agilist certification is a plus.

• Ability to achieve CSWF and IAT Level II Certifications (Security+) is preferred.

• Proven experience in technical writing and briefing.

• Knowledge of hybrid cloud and local architectures.

• Familiarity with modern source control systems (Git, BitBucket, etc.).

• Experience with Multi-Layer Security, Cross-Domain Solutions, and NSA "Raise the Bar" initiatives.

• Competence in Continuous-ATOs, Risk Management Framework, and Program Protection Plans.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Containers, and Docker.

• Familiarity with Zero Trust Models.
