Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of our Azure infrastructure.

• You will serve as the architect for WWF's Azure environment, creating subscriptions, provisioning resources, and constructing/deploying VMs (Windows, SQL, Red Hat, firewalls) from scratch in both production and staging environments.

• Ensure Security & Identity Compliance.

• Set up Microsoft Entra tenants, manage SSO via Azure Enterprise Apps, and maintain secure and organized RBAC and user groups. You will proactively patch systems and utilize PowerShell + Graph API to automate routine tasks, allowing critical operations to run more efficiently.

• Act as Our Safety Net.

• Develop effective backup strategies and disaster recovery plans that function when they are needed most. Your efforts provide peace of mind, knowing our systems are resilient against any challenges.

• Maintain Connectivity.

• Diagnose networking issues across VNETs, sites, and tenants. You are fluent in the language of firewalls, load balancers, and DNS (Azure + Cloudflare), resolving issues before they escalate into emergencies.

• Be the Go-To Expert.

• When Azure, Entra ID, or M365 challenges become complex, you are the person the team relies on. You will manage projects from start to finish and keep both technical and non-technical stakeholders informed throughout the process.

• Be Available When It Matters.

• Willingness to work occasional after-hours or weekends for urgent outages or scheduled maintenance, as uptime is crucial, along with the team dedicated to ensuring it.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in IT or a related field AND a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience (including at least 6 years in IT).

• MUST HAVE verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish.

• Experience in managing large-scale enterprise IT systems.

• Extensive hands-on experience overseeing highly available and resilient Azure production environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, cloud networking, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and both Windows and Linux servers.

• Proficient in managing Windows domains and Active Directory.

• Expertise in utilizing PowerShell and Graph API for Azure management, workflow automation, and deployment orchestration.

• Familiarity with provisioning and managing access for technologies such as Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Foundry.

• Experience in integrating Microsoft Copilot for M365, Copilot Studio, and Copilot Agents into enterprise Azure/M365 environments, including setting up and governing data access controls.

• Significant experience in building, deploying, and managing Azure virtual machines from the ground up.

• Proven ability to apply structured thinking to diagnose complex cloud or hybrid system issues and devise scalable, sustainable solutions.

• Well-developed methodologies for diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems.

• Broad expertise across enterprise infrastructure, Azure cloud architecture, identity and access management with Entra ID, and emerging AI-driven automation technologies—enabling the assessment and recommendation of modernization opportunities, security enhancements, and strategic technology replacements.

• Skills in configuring Microsoft Entra tenants and domains, including DNS and VNET setup.
