Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bolivia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of our Azure infrastructure.

• You will serve as the architect for WWF's Azure environment, creating subscriptions, provisioning resources, and constructing/deploying VMs (Windows, SQL, Red Hat, firewalls) from the ground up in both production and staging environments.

• Ensure Security & Identity Management

• Set up Microsoft Entra tenants, oversee SSO via Azure Enterprise Apps, and maintain the cleanliness and security of our RBAC and user groups.

• Act as Our Safety Net

• Develop backup strategies and disaster recovery playbooks that function effectively when needed.

• Maintain Connectivity

• Diagnose networking issues across VNETs, sites, and tenants. You are fluent in firewalls, load balancers, and DNS (Azure + Cloudflare), addressing problems proactively before they escalate.

• Be the Subject Matter Expert

• When challenges arise with Azure, Entra ID, or M365, you are the team member they reach out to for assistance.

• Be Available When Necessary

• Willingness to work after hours or on weekends for critical outages or planned maintenance, as uptime is vital, along with the team that ensures it.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field AND a minimum of 8 years of work experience (including at least 6 years in IT).

• MUST HAVE verbal and written proficiency in both English and Spanish.

• Proven experience in managing large-scale enterprise IT systems.

• Extensive practical experience in overseeing highly available and resilient Azure production environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, cloud networking, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Windows and Linux servers.

• Skilled in managing Windows domains and Active Directory.

• Proficient in utilizing PowerShell and Graph API for Azure management, workflow automation, and deployment orchestration.

• Familiar with provisioning and managing access for technologies such as Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Foundry.

• Experience integrating Microsoft Copilot for M365, Copilot Studio, and Copilot Agents into enterprise Azure/M365 environments, including configuration and governance of data access controls.

• Significant experience in building, deploying, and managing virtual machines in Azure from the ground up.

• Proven track record of applying structured thinking to diagnose complex cloud or hybrid system issues and develop scalable, sustainable solutions.

• Well-developed methodologies for diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues. Broad expertise across enterprise infrastructure, Azure cloud architecture, identity and access management with Entra ID, and emerging AI-driven automation technologies—enabling the evaluation and recommendation of modernization opportunities, security improvements, and strategic technology replacements.
