This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Contribute to the design, evolution, and management of cloud platforms and DevOps capabilities across the UK product portfolio, encompassing infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational tools.
• Assist in defining the technical direction for cloud architecture, which includes environment structure, network topology, identity and access models, and shared platform services, in alignment with global cloud teams.
• Aid in the development and promotion of standards and reference methodologies for infrastructure as code, configuration management, and environment provisioning, ensuring both repeatability and auditability.
• Design, implement, and enhance DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, release and deployment strategies, environment promotion, and change management.
• Ensure that cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines are secure and resilient, collaborating with DevSecOps and InfoSec on access controls, secrets management, network security, and pipeline hardening.
• Maintain strong foundations for stability and recovery, which include disaster recovery strategies, RTO/RPO definitions, runbooks, and regular recovery testing.
• Manage cloud costs through informed architectural decisions, capacity planning, scaling strategies, and service selection, utilizing cost data to inform trade-offs rather than imposing blanket controls.
• Foster transparency and visibility of cloud costs back to the teams working on the products.
• Mentor and coach fellow team members to enhance their skills and advocate for best practices.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure that deployment, monitoring, and operational methods align with application architecture and the maintenance of systems.
• Work in a cooperative manner, articulating technical decisions clearly and guiding teams through support, guidance, and shared ownership instead of enforcement.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, etc.) to a high standard.
• Experience in deploying and maintaining workloads on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Comfortable working directly with engineering teams in a collaborative manner.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes (CI/CD pipelines, observability, and reliability).
