Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Propose automation and enhancements while collaborating with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

• Enhance the capability and efficiency of the Cloud Engineering team, as well as the broader IT department.

• Oversee an existing Public Cloud environment by building, deploying, and maintaining servers (Linux & Windows) and services within AWS.

• Manage infrastructure governed by Puppet.

• Design and develop new cloud-based systems operating in a Public Cloud environment.

• Explore new cloud technology releases to assess their potential for platform improvement.

• Prepare and maintain relevant documentation to support operations.

• Lead the design and architecture of innovative cloud solutions, ensuring they are reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective.

• Support and maintain production systems, serving as the escalation point for complex incidents and leading root cause analysis efforts.

• Promote best security practices and cost optimization throughout the cloud environment.

• Mentor and coach the Mid-level Cloud Engineer and other team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cloud engineer or in a similar role, responsible for the following:

• - Developing and managing an AWS environment.

• - Linux Server Administration.

• - Configuration management using Puppet.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Serverless.

• Proficiency in scripting languages, including Bash and Linux shell scripts.

• Experience in automation, including familiarity with tools like GitHub Actions and similar frameworks.

• Knowledge of database technologies, particularly with AWS RDS and other AWS-based database services.

• Experience in administering web servers such as Nginx or Apache.

• Background in working within an Agile environment.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for proposing solutions, collaborating, and securing stakeholder buy-in.

• Self-motivated, with the capability to lead and coach others.

• Proven experience in designing cloud architectures and spearheading technical initiatives from conception to execution.

• Take responsibility for meeting project deadlines.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), essential for building effective working relationships both internally and externally.
