Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee alert queues and posture dashboards in Defender for Cloud, focusing on high-severity signals within Azure and AWS-connected environments.

• Conduct initial validation to screen for false positives, perform basic enrichment including resource identifiers, subscription/account details, region, and environment tags, and assign severity levels.

• Evaluate high-impact recommendations and changes in secure score; generate remediation tickets aligned with client ownership across platform, IAM, and application teams.

• Forward confirmed incidents to Level 2 support with a comprehensive evidence package, including alert metadata, affected resources, timelines, and user/service principal context.

• Keep documentation updated with ticket progress, adherence to SOP/runbook procedures, and notes for shift handovers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in triaging alerts using Microsoft security tools such as the Defender portal and Azure portal.

• Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow and Jira.

• Fundamental knowledge of cloud concepts, including Azure subscriptions/resource groups, RBAC principles, as well as AWS accounts/regions and basic IAM concepts.

• Awareness of CNAPP concepts, specifically differentiating between posture misconfigurations and workload threat detection.

• Basic understanding of AWS onboarding patterns for Defender for Cloud at a high level.

• Introductory knowledge of compliance frameworks like CIS, NIST, and ISO.

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft SC-200, AZ-500, or AWS Security Specialty (or equivalent fundamentals).
