This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and create a highly available, scalable, and secure ClickHouse Cloud platform tailored for regulated and mission-critical environments.
• Develop cutting-edge deployment automation across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises systems, including for disconnected environments when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with the existing Dataplane and Core teams to ensure software compatibility with the current cloud infrastructure.
• Address unique challenges related to scaling, reliability, and performance within regulated environments.
• Design and implement ClickHouse Cloud on Kubernetes and containerized settings, ensuring high availability, replication, and backup solutions.
• Create and maintain Helm charts, operators, and Kubernetes manifests for effective database management.
• Implement consistent automation processes to build, scale, and troubleshoot infrastructure components across various deployment models.
• Enhance ClickHouse Cloud database performance and storage architecture for on-prem, hybrid, and government cloud deployments.
• Integrate secure authentication, encryption, and access control mechanisms into the platform.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation regarding system architecture, security, and compliance audits.
• Diagnose and resolve database performance, security, and operational issues effectively.
• Automate deployment processes and lifecycle management utilizing Terraform, Ansible, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Permanent Resident status and/or U.S. Citizenship is required (as per U.S. federal contract stipulations).
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in software development, particularly in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Proficiency in Kubernetes tools (Helm, Kustomize, operators, Istio, service mesh).
• Experience in secure, regulated, or restricted network environments (including airgapped architectures) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), especially in regulated or enterprise settings.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or on-prem equivalents).
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Go or Python) for automation and integration tasks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across engineering groups.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and solid production debugging expertise.
