Senior Cloud Engineer – Architecture, Foundation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures, applying standards and best practices from the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

• Assess architectural trade-offs considering cost, performance, security, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Create and maintain architecture diagrams (C4, AWS Architecture Icons) and detailed technical documentation.

• Conduct design reviews and architectural analyses with development teams.

• Implement and evolve cloud infrastructure focusing on scalability, resilience, security, and cost optimization.

• Define reusable infrastructure standards and frameworks to accelerate team delivery.

• Automate operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting, eliminating manual processes.

• Ensure high availability and performance of services by implementing disaster recovery and backup strategies.

• Plan and monitor service capacity and performance, optimizing cloud resource consumption.

• Implement and maintain observability solutions (logs, metrics, and traces) to ensure complete visibility of infrastructure.

• Actively collaborate with development, product, and architecture teams, serving as a technical reference for cloud solutions.

• Develop and implement code following our internal quality standards, maintainability, and best practices.

• Perform code reviews and technically contribute to platform architecture and products.

• Identify and implement continuous improvements in processes, architecture, and operations.

• Participate in the evaluation and resolution of critical incidents, conducting root cause analyses.

• Promote and disseminate a culture of excellence in cloud architecture and best practices in Cloud Engineering.

• Evaluate new technologies and AWS services, proposing adoption when appropriate.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience designing and implementing cloud architectures (AWS).

• In-depth experience and knowledge of AWS services and their use cases (Compute, Storage, Database, Networking, Security).

• Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its six pillars.

• Experience designing high availability architectures, multi-AZ, and multi-region solutions.

• Knowledge of cloud-native architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, serverless).

• Understanding of Serverless and event-driven architectures (AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions).

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).

• Experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of networking and connectivity (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, security groups, NACLs).

• Experience designing storage solutions (S3, EBS, EFS, FSx) and backup/DR strategies.

• Proficiency in Linux systems (Ubuntu), including tools and scripting (Shell script, Bash, Python).

• Experience with CI/CD (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

• Familiarity with API development and microservices architecture.

• Experience with relational database administration and optimization (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS, Aurora).

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch).

• Knowledge of cloud security practices (IAM, secrets management, encryption, compliance).

• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams.

• Technical English proficiency (reading and writing).
