This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Create comprehensive enterprise cloud solutions encompassing compute, networking, identity, storage, data, and messaging services.
• Influence cloud architecture choices across Azure and AWS to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
• Develop and manage disaster recovery strategies, including RTO/RPO objectives, failover procedures, backup and restore processes, and DR testing.
• Provide guidance and troubleshoot issues related to network segmentation and hybrid/cross-cloud connectivity among Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments.
• Design and automate deployments across AKS, serverless architecture, API Management, data services, messaging/streaming, and storage.
• Implement standardized CI/CD practices, including pipeline design, branching strategies, automated testing, release gating, and rollback procedures.
• Promote GitOps practices using ArgoCD and spearhead infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Oversee the architecture of shared Kubernetes clusters, focusing on namespaces, multi-tenancy, RBAC, workload isolation, and cluster networking.
• Set observability standards for monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing processes.
• Direct incident response efforts and conduct post-mortems for infrastructure and deployment challenges.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex architectural, deployment, and infrastructure matters.
• Assess tools to enhance automation, deployment speed, and reliability.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, and nurture a team of DevOps/platform engineers.
• Integrate DevSecOps practices in collaboration with security and compliance teams.
• Over 10 years of experience in Cloud Architecture, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
• More than 3 years of experience in people management.
• Proven track record in designing end-to-end enterprise cloud solutions.
• Practical experience in disaster recovery strategy development, including RTO/RPO, failover, backup/restore, and DR testing.
• Extensive hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Strong hands-on experience with ArgoCD and GitOps.
• Broad expertise in Azure and AWS, covering networking, identity, storage, messaging, and managed data services.
• Established experience with Kubernetes/AKS, including shared or multi-tenant clusters, as well as serverless technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of network segmentation across Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation.
• Solid understanding of cloud security and IAM principles, including RBAC and managed identities.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, particularly with data engineering and network security teams.
• Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, CKA, or those related to DR/BCP are advantageous.
