This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Assess specimen acceptability for testing based on established guidelines.
• Conduct both routine and intricate technical procedures following departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Oversee, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Make informed technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.
• Prepare, test, and assess new reagents or controls.
• Provide accurate and prompt reporting of test results.
• Execute and document preventative maintenance and quality control processes.
• Recognize and restock testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with specimen processing as needed.
• Ensure a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• A minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
• Non-traditional degrees with relevant science credits that meet CLIA standards may fulfill educational requirements.
• Familiarity with laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Experience in a high-volume laboratory setting.
• Competence with computers and knowledge of laboratory information systems.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail, along with effective communication and organizational skills.
• Capability to meet the physical demands of the role.
• Ability to successfully complete a standardized color blindness test.
• Willingness to work overtime or various shifts as needed by the business.
• Requirement for a dedicated, non-shared home office space that complies with HIPAA.
• Consent to have home address included in reports for analyzed or reported cases, as mandated by CMS.
• Wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec.
