Senior Claims Specialist – Workers Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee Illinois workers' compensation claims from their inception to resolution.

• Assess claim details and determine coverage, compensability, and eligibility for benefits.

• Formulate and implement strategies to secure timely and favorable outcomes for claims.

• Set and uphold suitable claim reserves.

• Negotiate settlements to achieve claim resolution.

• Maintain regular communication with claimants, insured parties, employers, and other involved stakeholders.

• Prepare and deliver large loss reports to both internal and external audiences.

• Work in conjunction with defense counsel on litigation strategies and claim resolutions.

• Collaborate with medical case managers, surveillance vendors, and other external resources.

• Ensure adherence to Illinois workers' compensation laws and regulations.

• Keep precise and timely claim documentation.

• Examine claim trends and exposures to facilitate effective decision-making.

• Deliver exceptional service while fostering strong relationships with customers and business partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Illinois workers' compensation claims adjusting, including complex or high-exposure claims.

• In-depth knowledge of Illinois workers' compensation laws, regulations, and claims practices.

• Preferred professional industry designations such as Associate in Claims (AIC).

• Availability to work during Central Time Zone business hours.

• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to engage with a diverse range of internal and external contacts.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
