Excess Claims Adjuster III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee a caseload of GL/Excess Claims across various states

• Handle new loss assignments, reassignments, and ensure accurate reserve setting

• Conduct coverage analysis, evaluate responsibilities for defense and indemnification, and establish choice of law

• Recognize issues that need resolution and choose suitable methods, concentrating on risk transfer and optimal results

• Prepare intricate coverage letters, which include reservations of rights, disclaimers, and responses to objections

• Collaborate with counsel to devise legal strategies

• Manage GL/Excess litigation in accordance with litigation guidelines, coordinating efforts with coverage and defense counsel

• Determine suitable cases for trial

• Complete pre-trial reports and engage in trial activities

• Report to a Claim Manager within the GL/Excess group

• Employ artificial intelligence tools and resources, including generative AI

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 5–10 years of experience in GL/Excess Claims, with demonstrated growth in responsibility in GL also considered

• Technical expertise focused on identifying coverage issues and interpreting policies

• Comprehensive understanding of liability policy language and coverage interpretation

• Experience working in a regulated environment

• Capability to ensure adherence to company procedures

• Experience managing a caseload involving child abuse/sexual assault cases

• Bachelor's degree

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for immigration sponsorship now or in the future

• Proficient in using artificial intelligence tools and resources, including generative AI
