This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee a portfolio of GL/Excess Claims across various states
• Handle new loss assignments and their reassignments
• Establish accurate reserves
• Conduct coverage analysis, defense duties, indemnity responsibilities, and choice-of-law evaluations
• Recognize issues that need resolution and determine suitable methods, emphasizing risk transfer and optimal results
• Compose intricate coverage letters, including reservations of rights, disclaimers, and responses to objections
• Collaborate with legal counsel to develop a legal strategy
• Manage GL/Excess litigation in accordance with litigation guidelines, including coverage and defense counsel
• Select suitable cases for trial
• Prepare pre-trial reports and participate in trial activities
• Report to the Claim Manager of the GL/Excess group
• Leverage artificial intelligence tools and resources
• Ideally, a minimum of 5–10 years of experience in GL/Excess Claims; candidates showing a progression of responsibility in GL will also be considered
• A technical background is preferred, focusing on identifying coverage issues and interpreting policies
• Caseload primarily involves child abuse/sexual assault cases
• Extensive understanding of liability policy language and coverage interpretation
• Experience working within a regulated environment
• Proven ability to ensure compliance with company protocols
• A college degree is required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
• Experience using artificial intelligence tools and resources, such as generative AI
