This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Manage all aspects of 1st and 3rd party injury claims of low to moderate complexity for both personal and commercial lines.
• Efficiently and effectively oversee claims to ensure appropriate resolution with minimal supervision.
• Address liability injury claims, encompassing coverage, liability, and damage considerations.
• Process Medical Payment, PIP, Uninsured Motorists, Under-insured Motorists, and ADB claims.
• Assist with first notice of loss calls and engage in the department phone queue as required.
• Make informed coverage determinations and perform complex investigative tasks.
• Advise clients on suitable actions regarding coverage matters.
• Determine liability based on collected evidence.
• Assess potential subrogation opportunities and initiate notices of subrogation.
• Formulate negotiation strategies to settle claims with insured individuals, claimants, or representatives of injured parties.
• Communicate relevant case details to supervisors, managers, or committees when necessary.
• Engage in employee resource groups and volunteer activities.
• Travel as necessary for divisional, team, and other in-person meetings.
• Support business requirements by dedicating additional time and assisting other teams.
• A minimum of 4 years of claims experience.
• At least 3 years of experience as a casualty adjuster.
• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of experience in a casualty claims role within the P&C insurance sector.
• Must possess an Adjuster's license for all applicable states or acquire licenses within 90 days of starting the position as a condition of employment.
• Capability to resolve low to moderate complexity 1st and 3rd party injury claims.
• Understanding of liability, coverage, and damage issues.
• Experience with Medical Payment, PIP, Uninsured Motorists, Under-insured Motorists, and ADB claims.
• Ability to make coverage and liability assessments based on evidence.
• Competence in conducting intricate investigative work.
• Skill in developing claims negotiation strategies.
• Commercial claims handling experience is a plus.
• A BA/BS in business, insurance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is advantageous.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States.
