This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Organize regular interface meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, such as architects, consultants, contractors, and clients.
• Keep a detailed interface register to document, monitor, and report on the status of all identified interface points.
• Offer expert technical advice on integrating structural systems with other building and infrastructure elements.
• Review and authorize design drawings, specifications, and submissions from various disciplines to ensure alignment with structural design.
• Drive the resolution of technical conflicts and discrepancies among different design models and drawings (e.g., BIM clash detection and resolution).
• Ensure that all design modifications are effectively communicated and coordinated across all impacted disciplines.
• Conduct and supervise intricate structural analysis and design for a variety of structures, ensuring adherence to all applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Prepare and evaluate detailed engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documentation.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers in both technical design and interface management best practices.
• Act as the primary liaison between the civil/structural team and other project stakeholders.
• Articulate complex technical issues and solutions clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all project partners to promote a collaborative and integrated project environment.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering is required.
• At least 5+ years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in a senior position on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
• A Master of Science in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC).
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RISA), as well as BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
