This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Manage claims of moderate to high complexity related to material damage, property, and/or liability insurance lines.

• Perform phone and/or field investigations to assess liability and damages.

• Participate in legal proceedings as required.

• Gather and obtain statements from insured parties, claimants, and witnesses.

• Communicate effectively with insured individuals, claimants, and other parties.

• Articulate benefits, coverage details, fault determination, and the claims process both verbally and in writing.

• Address coverage issues of moderate complexity.

• Analyze and establish claim values using data related to property, bodily injury, and liability.

• Negotiate within settlement authority to resolve first- and third-party claims.

• Maintain database production reports and document claim files utilizing company systems such as CACS, HUON, HOC, and Guidewire.

• Manage expenses within designated areas of responsibility.

• Verify coverage and interpret policy applicability issues.

• Coordinate efforts with both internal and external departments.

• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and issues.

• Independently resolve claims within established authority limits.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred 7–9 years of experience in claims handling.

• Preferred 4–6 years of experience in property, auto, casualty, or relevant claims administration.

• In-depth knowledge of best practices and procedures in claims administration.

• Advanced understanding of insurance, fault assessment, negligence, and subrogation principles.

• Comprehensive insight into building and vehicle repair processes and third-party liability concerns.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, general software applications, and claims management software.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Advanced interpersonal skills.

• Strong leadership qualities among colleagues.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and causality.

• A valid driver's license with an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record and minimum liability insurance as required by the state.

• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter certification is preferred.

• Associate in Claims certification is preferred.

• An insurance/claims adjuster license may be necessary for claims administration in certain states.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for business meetings or conferences (5%).
