
Senior Business Development Lead, Cell & Gene Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Formulate and implement strategic business development initiatives to meet revenue and growth targets within the Cell and Gene Therapy sector.
• Discover, evaluate, and secure new opportunities with biotechnology firms, academic medical institutions, contract research organizations (CROs), contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), and healthcare systems.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, including executives, clinical operations leaders, manufacturing heads, translational scientists, supply chain leaders, and procurement teams.
• Oversee intricate consultative sales processes from initial outreach to contract execution and implementation.
• Collaborate with internal experts across Operations, Quality, Medical Affairs, Laboratory Services, Clinical Apheresis, and Process Development to create customer-focused solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients by keeping abreast of emerging trends in cell and gene therapy.
• Represent the American Red Cross at industry conferences, trade associations, and customer events.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecast potential opportunities, and provide market insights to aid in strategic planning.
• Foster the growth of existing customer relationships through cross-selling and strategic account development efforts.
• Contribute to the creation of new products, services, and market opportunities informed by customer and industry insights.
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, sales, scientific, clinical, operational, manufacturing, or commercial roles within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, cell therapy, or healthcare sectors.
• Proven track record in developing customer relationships, managing complex stakeholder interactions, or driving business growth initiatives in the biotechnology, healthcare, or cell and gene therapy fields.
• Familiarity with the cell and gene therapy ecosystem, encompassing biotechnology, academic, clinical, manufacturing, or research settings.
• Experience in engaging executive-level stakeholders and influencing cross-functional decision-makers.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
