This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.
• Act as a reliable partner for clients, including utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and private providers.
• Influence broadband strategies by spearheading the creation of master plans, market assessments, and business cases.
• Provide insightful, executive-level advice to senior stakeholders.
• Take charge of consulting engagements from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams encompassing engineering, GIS, financial modeling, grants, and construction.
• Supervise the assessment and planning of fiber, fixed wireless, and hybrid broadband solutions.
• Evaluate current infrastructure and assist in defining intelligent, scalable deployment strategies.
• Facilitate crucial decisions regarding network architecture, capacity, and performance.
• Oversee the formulation of comprehensive financial models that encompass ROI, business cases, and operational scenarios.
• Assist clients in navigating funding opportunities, including developing strategies for federal and state programs like BEAD and NTIA.
• Offer guidance on grant applications, compliance, and overall funding alignment.
• Take an active role in stakeholder and community engagement, leading workshops, executive briefings, and public meetings.
• Collaborate with local governments, regulatory bodies, and funding agencies.
• Manage relationships with vendors and partners throughout the broadband ecosystem.
• Ensure oversight of program execution, monitoring schedules, budgets, and risks.
• Establish governance frameworks, reporting structures, and performance metrics.
• Advise clients during the transition from planning to engineering, construction, and implementation.
• Contribute to business growth by supporting proposals, defining scopes, and formulating pricing strategies.
• Identify new opportunities within both existing and potential accounts and assist in thought leadership initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8–15+ years of experience in broadband, telecommunications, or infrastructure consulting.
• Proven track record of leading complex broadband or telecommunications projects.
• Strong expertise in fiber, wireless, and/or hybrid network architectures.
• Established ability to manage client relationships and lead project teams effectively.
• Experience in supporting public-sector broadband initiatives (states, municipalities, co-ops).
• Direct experience with broadband funding programs (e.g., BEAD, NTIA, USDA ReConnect).
• Familiarity with GIS tools, network design platforms, or engineering coordination.
• PMP or similar project management certification.
