This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Manage the complete bookkeeping cycle for MNP clients in a dynamic setting.
• Prepare and oversee payroll along with associated government remittances/filings, as well as the recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll, and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions.
• Generate T4s and Records of Employment.
• Offer assistance and training to junior members of the bookkeeping team.
• Execute the month-end and quarter-end closing processes.
• Maintain, monitor, and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads.
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with the supervisor or engagement partner to formulate solutions.
• Keep track of work in progress and budget files; recognize opportunities that fall outside the scope.
• Communicate with clients regarding administrative matters and provide functional guidance to other team members.
• Pinpoint areas for enhancement to increase efficiencies in bookkeeping engagements.
• Collaborate effectively and cultivate relationships with clients and team members.
• A certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered advantageous.
• A minimum of 3 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience.
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as QBO, Dext, or Xero is preferred.
• Certifications in QBO Basic, QBO Advanced, Xero, and other applications are regarded as assets.
• Knowledge of corporate tax principles is an asset.
• Experience in preparing T4s.
• A working understanding of basic accounting principles and processes.
• Experience with desktop software like QuickBooks Desktop and Sage 50 is beneficial.
