Senior Billing, A/R Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the entire monthly invoicing process. Manage inquiries and tools related to invoicing, create and distribute invoice batches, and generate approximately 800 invoices each month for various client arrangements, including standard, self-bill, and bespoke options.

• Ensure invoicing is complete and precise. Oversee controls, validation, and review processes concerning invoice completeness, plan coverage, rates, invoicing groups, and banking information. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring that adjustments and client-specific requirements are accurately represented.

• Manage Accounts Receivable and collections. Oversee the A/R balance from issuance to cash receipt, including collections and follow-ups on overdue balances, ACH pulls, re-attempts, and timely application of cash and classification of deposits to facilitate month-end closing.

• Address billing inquiries and resolve issues. Manage the A/R inbox and respond to questions from clients, brokers, and internal teams regarding billing within established service level agreements, ensuring efficient coordination with internal teams to resolve issues.

• Utilize and continually enhance our automation processes. Employ our internal Claude skill suite as the primary method for executing recurring tasks (self-bills, cash applications, dashboards, batch QA) and improve these skills as the business grows.

• Maintain client billing information and portals. Ensure that invoice contacts, terms, and banking details are accurate; uphold Garner's presence in AP/supplier portals (such as Coupa, SAP, and others).

• Track and report on Billing and A/R performance metrics. Monitor metrics that measure invoicing completeness, accuracy, and collections effectiveness (DSO, AR turnover, aging, invoice error rate, on-time batch rate, SLA attainment) and take action based on these insights.

• Uphold strong processes and documentation. Keep SOPs and the shared record system updated and clear enough so that a teammate can perform any part of this function without prior knowledge — eliminating single points of failure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing Billing and Accounts Receivable processes, preferably in a high-volume setting, with familiarity using QuickBooks Online, Netsuite, or similar financial systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of A/R and collections, including DSO, aging, cash applications, and the operational factors influencing collections performance.

• Strong analytical and reconciliation capabilities, with the skill to identify variances, trace issues across various data sources, and drive them toward resolution. Experience with Salesforce, Snowflake/SQL, or similar tools is advantageous.

• A continuous improvement mindset and a keen interest in leveraging automation and AI to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of recurring processes.

• An ownership mentality, capable of independently managing the function, identifying issues and risks, and collaborating across teams to address them.

• Exceptional attention to detail and controls, with a systematic approach to validating work and identifying issues before they affect clients or financial reporting.
