Senior Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure the team delivers secure, reliable, well-tested, and maintainable code to our customers.

• Proactively mentor and enhance the skills of colleagues through constructive feedback during code reviews, architectural discussions, and addressing non-functional aspects such as security, privacy, and performance.

• Drive the team's direction and priorities, continually exploring ways to better support stakeholders and effectively breakdown tasks.

• Recognized as a leader and a definitive expert in the technical domains and components managed by the team.

• Serve as a strong role model exhibiting collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

• Oversee the entire delivery process — from technical design and architecture to production deployment and support.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of software engineering experience with a demonstrated history of shipping and maintaining production-level software.

• A minimum of 3 years of recent, hands-on experience with NodeJS and TypeScript.

• Strong understanding of backend ecosystems, including SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging brokers (e.g., SQS, RabbitMQ), and common software design patterns.

• Proven expertise in AWS, covering core services like ECS/Fargate, Lambda, EC2 DynamoDB/RDS/Aurora, SQS/SNS/Kinesis, etc.

• Hands-on experience in architecting comprehensive systems — translating business needs into complete technical designs that encompass API design, data models, and infrastructure.

• Experience in designing and managing microservices and event-driven architectures that prioritize scalability, resilience, and high performance.

• Extensive knowledge of testing methodologies across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, along with practical experience in building and maintaining automated test suites integrated into CI/CD processes.

• A security-first approach with experience in developing secure services and implementing best practices for observability and maintainability.

• Actively utilizes AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to enhance productivity and expedite development.

• Enthusiastic about mentoring engineers and clearly communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborative, positive, and approachable — someone who contributes to a "win together" team culture.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
