Senior Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Overseeing the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of projects, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with quality standards.

• Contributing to intricate technical projects, ensuring the development of robust, secure, and scalable software solutions.

• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, promoting a collaborative and productive work atmosphere. This involves task delegation, providing constructive feedback, and enhancing team communication.

• Fostering innovation by encouraging new ideas, shaping software development, and working closely with product management to create user-focused solutions.

• Designing and deploying cloud-native solutions utilizing GitLab CI/CD to AWS, playing a vital role in the overarching engineering strategy and collaboration across teams.

• Creating an impact beyond your immediate team by influencing the Engineering strategy and contributing to cross-team collaboration through inter-team working groups or community guilds, among other initiatives.

• A product-oriented engineer who approaches challenges from a user perspective, comprehending both the how and why behind technical solutions.

• A candidate with extensive knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, and industry best practices, possessing strong expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software architecture to construct and scale cloud-based systems.

• A backend engineer with a solid background in Golang, Java/Kotlin, or PHP (preferred technologies). Adaptable and able to pivot with changing project requirements, roles, and backend technologies as necessary.

• A problem solver capable of deconstructing complex challenges into manageable solutions through analytical reasoning and creativity.

• An effective communicator who can clarify technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders while documenting technical specifications and processes clearly.

• A developer who embraces the principle of "you build it, you run it, you own it," prioritizing high-quality code, debugging, optimization, and automation.

• Someone with substantial experience in relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Memcached) and a proficient understanding of AWS cloud architecture and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).

• A professional experienced in large-scale web applications, possessing an economic-thinking mindset, capable of designing well-defined domain systems.
