Senior Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the implementation and technical excellence across backend initiatives.

• Establish engineering benchmarks, perform code evaluations, and steer architectural choices.

• Collaborate on the backend roadmap and delivery strategies alongside product and engineering leadership.

• Cultivate a culture centered around ownership, quality, and ongoing improvement.

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable, highly concurrent backend services utilizing Go.

• Architect distributed systems that ensure high throughput, dependability, and real-time operations.

• Specify service boundaries, APIs, and data models across various systems.

• Develop services that enable autonomy workflows, platform capabilities, and practical deployments.

• Enhance backend systems for optimal performance, scalability, and resilience.

• Recognize and address bottlenecks within distributed systems and workloads that are heavy on concurrency.

• Guarantee that systems adhere to high standards of uptime and operational dependability.

• Elevate maintainability, observability, and production readiness throughout backend services.

• Collaborate with frontend, platform, autonomy, and embedded teams to integrate services across applications and devices.

• Assist in end-to-end system design, from edge devices to cloud infrastructure.

• Contribute to system-level architecture across the entire stack.

• Convert product and technical specifications into reliable backend systems.

• Uphold secure development practices throughout backend systems.

• Maintain elevated standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.

• Engage in design assessments and enhance backend engineering methodologies.

• Create systems with reliability, security, and maintainability considered from the outset.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in backend engineering, distributed systems engineering, or similar software engineering positions.

• Strong proficiency in Go and developing highly concurrent systems.

• Experience in designing and managing distributed systems at scale.

• Excellent API design and system architecture expertise.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments.

• Extensive knowledge of performance optimization, data structures, networking, and system design.

• Capability to lead projects from conception to production.

• Exceptional communication, ownership, and collaborative skills across functions.
