Senior Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to develop features and enhancements.

• Expand our API and backend systems.

• Engage directly with our PostgreSQL cluster.

• Contribute to and enhance our testing environment.

• Tackle challenges related to architecture, security, anti-fraud measures, performance, scalability, personalization, optimization, payments, and more.

• Serve as a supportive and helpful presence on the team, participating in code reviews and other team processes.

• Stay updated with the latest trends in server-side technology development.

• Mentor and guide other engineers in your areas of expertise.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with other technical and product teams.

• Participate in an on-call rotation.

• Leverage LLMs, when suitable, to enhance the product and development workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.

• Proven experience in building, maintaining, or architecting one or more production web applications.

• Proficient knowledge and viewpoints on API design, database design, naming conventions, and simplifying complex services.

• Understanding of operational aspects such as deployment, migrations, configuration, and provisioning.

• Professional experience with the technologies we utilize (Ruby on Rails with Sorbet, PostgreSQL, AWS).
