Senior Backend Engineer – Users Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• You will be responsible for overseeing the core services that authenticate every entity—both human and machine—within our ecosystem.

• You will define how fine-grained permissions are structured, inherited, and enforced throughout a vast, multi-tenant hierarchy of organizations and locations.

• You will manage the internal SDKs, gRPC contracts, and middleware that enable over 150 downstream engineers to integrate security features into their products without requiring expertise in cryptography.

• You will oversee the infrastructure that connects our platform to the outside world, including federated identity (SSO), automated provisioning (SCIM), and secure machine-to-machine (M2M) communication protocols.

• Enhance system observability (MTTD/MTTR) by incorporating monitoring and load-testing protocols into our Tier-1 services.

• As the custodian of the "Source of Truth," you will ensure the immutability and reliability of our audit logging pipelines and the consistency of identity data.

• As a founding member of the regional hub, you will set the technical standards and operational culture for the India-based arm of the team, facilitating seamless asynchronous collaboration with team members based in the US.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of backend engineering experience, with considerable time dedicated to developing distributed systems in Go.

• A thorough understanding of AuthN/AuthZ primitives, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and JWT mechanics.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex data migrations, distributed architectures, and build gRPC-based microservices.

• Exceptional written communication skills; capable of drafting Technical Design Documents (TPDs) that effectively bridge the gap between stakeholders in India and the US.
