Senior Backend Engineer, TypeScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and develop high-performance backend services utilizing TypeScript, Bun.js, and Nest.js.

• Create and uphold a resilient, scalable data architecture, ensuring adequate data storage, organization, and documentation.

• Integrate backend services through gRPC and oversee inter-service communication using protobuf contracts.

• Develop event-driven solutions with message brokers such as Nats.io, Kafka, or SQS.

• Collaborate with analytical (ClickHouse) and transactional (PostgreSQL) databases to enhance query performance and guarantee data reliability.

• Connect with third-party systems including Auth0, Stripe, Sanity CMS, HubSpot, Algolia, and various external APIs (e.g., Google Places).

• Ensure robust data governance by defining data structures, storage strategies, and maintaining thorough documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated professional experience in backend development using TypeScript and Node.js.

• Practical experience with Nest.js or comparable backend frameworks.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, including indexes, transactions, and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience with message brokers, preferably Kafka.

• Familiarity with gRPC and developing APIs for inter-service communication.

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture principles.

• Capability to produce clean, maintainable, and type-safe code with an emphasis on scalability.

• Experience using Bun.js in production environments or personal projects (additional skills).

• Hands-on experience with ClickHouse for analytical workloads (additional skills).

• Experience in building high-load systems and real-time or near-real-time data pipelines (additional skills).

• Familiarity with observability tools, including logs, metrics, and distributed tracing (additional skills).

• Understanding of DDD, CQRS, and Clean Architecture patterns (additional skills).
