This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• We are expanding a platform utilized by millions throughout Europe and continuously enhancing our architecture, balancing a Rails monolith with distributed services.
• We seek a Backend Engineer who enjoys making pragmatic technical choices that have a real impact on products.
• You will become part of an agile squad with complete autonomy over a broad scope of the JobTeaser product.
• Together with fellow engineers, a product manager, and a product designer, you will be empowered to make technical decisions to maintain and enhance a complex SaaS product that significantly affects millions of users across Europe.
• Design, develop, and maintain features using a modern stack that includes Ruby and Go microservices, a Ruby on Rails monolith, Kubernetes, gRPC APIs, Kafka, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.
• Influence product design, priorities, and constraints within an autonomous product squad.
• Engage in architectural decision-making and tooling enhancements for our tech stack as we transition towards a microservice architecture.
• Participate in discussions on best practices and process improvements within the Backend Chapter, our internal community of backend engineers.
• Write automated tests and deploy to production multiple times a day in a Continuous Deployment DevOps culture.
• Monitor and resolve production issues within your team’s functional and technical scope.
• Take part in code reviews and collaborative programming sessions.
• Engage in learning and teaching through dedicated time for tech sharing and mentoring.
• A passionate developer with experience in at least one web backend technology, but eager to expand your knowledge.
• While our squad primarily works with Ruby and Go, we believe that specific technologies can be learned, and we value your problem-solving skills more than your experience with a particular language or framework.
• You are committed to achieving technical excellence for both yourself and your team.
