Senior Backend Engineer, Node.js, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Collaborate within a Cross-Functional Team: Partner closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA specialists to craft seamless experiences.

• Engage in Product Planning: From the discovery phase to deployment, your insights are valued throughout every step of the Software Development Lifecycle.

• Develop and Enhance Features: Work together to create robust new features, APIs, and continuously enhance our industry-leading products. Assist in identifying and resolving bugs at "Deel Speed."

• Deliver an Outstanding, Customer-Centric Experience: Guarantee high-quality products and services through meticulous engineering and a customer-focused development approach.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Backend Development: Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript best practices, along with experience in at least one additional server-side language.

• Database Expertise: A SQL expert, particularly skilled with PostgreSQL, adept at query optimization, data migrations, and database modeling.

• Strong Understanding of OOP and Design Patterns: A solid grasp of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns, with experience in building and extending classes.

• Focus on Scalability: Experience in designing systems for scalability, ensuring they effectively handle rapid growth and increasing demands.

• High-Volume Performance: Proven ability to optimize systems for large transaction volumes, managing concurrency, idempotency, and performance under load.

• API Development Skills: Proficient in building APIs, including input validation, JWT tokens, and guaranteeing security and scalability through queue-based systems.

• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
