Senior Backend Engineer – Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Create and architect scalable, high-performance, and low-latency backend services utilizing Java and AWS technologies.

• Work alongside product management, frontend, and QA teams to outline technical specifications and ensure seamless integration with other platform components.

• Enhance and optimize existing services to achieve the highest levels of performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Detect and resolve system bottlenecks to guarantee optimal resource utilization and system stability.

• Apply best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, including implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Actively monitor the performance and health of backend services, taking appropriate measures to address potential issues.

• Offer technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in backend software development, particularly in Java and AWS technologies.

• Strong background in building and managing low latency, high-scale services within a distributed environment.

• Proficient in Java programming with a comprehensive understanding of its ecosystem and associated frameworks.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization technologies (such as Docker and Kubernetes), and distributed data systems (like Kafka and Clickhouse).

• Knowledge of RESTful API design and a solid grasp of security best practices.

• Experience with CI/CD tools (including Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle) and agile development methodologies.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a strong capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a team.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
