Senior Backend Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain production-level backend services using Java and Spring Boot within a microservices framework.

• Implement intricate migration strategies to transition services from outdated systems to contemporary cloud-native platforms.

• Oversee high-volume data transactions utilizing Kafka and guarantee smooth synchronization between relational (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.

• Engage in architectural discussions and code evaluations, contributing to the roadmap for AI-driven workflows and LLM-based service patterns.

• Collaborate with global product and engineering teams to convert business needs into technical solutions that affect millions of users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in Backend Engineering with large-scale, production-grade systems.

• Advanced expertise in Java and Spring Boot (knowledge of Gradle is a bonus).

• Strong specialization in Microservices & API Design: Demonstrated success in creating RESTful APIs and managing distributed systems.

• Data Expertise: Practical experience with Relational Databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and Event-Streaming (Kafka).

• NoSQL Knowledge: Familiarity with DynamoDB or similar NoSQL technologies.

• Migration Skills: Proven capability in managing large-scale platform migrations and phasing out legacy codebases.

• Fluent in English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for daily collaboration in an all-English setting.

• Remote Work Experience: Familiarity with Agile teams operating in remote environments across LATAM.
