Senior Backend Engineer – Innovate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Design and implement backend functionalities from specifications to production deployment and rollback.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to establish and measure success metrics.

• Rapidly iterate based on experimental outcomes, including KPIs, dashboards, and quantitative signals.

• Develop robust, scalable, and cost-effective systems tailored for high-risk experimentation.

• Identify and resolve complex production issues utilizing logs, metrics, and observability tools.

• Anticipate operational impacts related to deployment, rollback, monitoring, and costs.

• Promote best practices and reusable patterns at the team level.

• Contribute to documentation, RFCs, and the internal usability of systems owned by the squad.

• Provide mentorship to peers through code reviews and collaborative programming; mentorship is a plus but not required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of backend development experience, preferably in startup or scale-up settings.

• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Extensive experience in API design, focusing on performance, security, and observability.

• Familiarity with event-driven systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.

• Strong application of engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, and resilience.

• Possess a product-oriented mindset and enjoy close collaboration with product teams.

• Comfortable communicating in English within an international context.

• Experience in designing scalable architectures is a plus.

• Previous mentoring experience is advantageous but not essential.
