This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.
• You will be part of a diverse team of engineers specializing in Frontend, Backend, SRE, and QA.
• Our structure consists of cross-functional development teams dedicated to specific verticals.
• This position is available across multiple teams, and the precise team you will join will be determined during the interview process based on business requirements and your preferences.
• No matter which team you join, your focus will be on developing tools, APIs, and integrations for one of our products.
• Our backend technology stack includes Elixir and Phoenix, with a Postgres database. For our front-end, we utilize React and Next.js. GitLab serves as our version control system, issue tracker, and CI/CD solution. All applications are hosted on AWS, and we depend entirely on our CI for deployments, executing multiple deployments each day.
• Lead the development of significant projects scoped within the team and engage in cross-team initiatives related to Remote's HR and Payroll products.
• Actively engage in the product development process within the team: provide insights, propose solutions to challenges, and leverage technical expertise to recommend product enhancements.
• Maintain a solid understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Offer constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Contribute to the collective codebase.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and business challenges.
• Participate in activities beyond your team, such as support rotations, the hiring process, and RFC discussions.
• Mentor and guide fellow engineers.
• Research, suggest, and engage in the implementation of enhancements to our platform.
• Design interfaces with a focus on performance, accessibility, and API design.
• Redefine how engineering tasks are executed with autonomous agents as the primary execution layer.
• Propose and implement agentic workflows from start to finish (spec → plan → execute → verify) to accelerate outcomes.
• Create reusable agentic workflows and primitives within the codebase for teams to utilize across various domains.
• Employ verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to ensure that results are accurate, secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a proven history of delivering production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Practical experience in designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and enhancing them through iterative improvements.
• Capability to think in systems: articulate specifications clearly, decompose plans, implement verification, and ensure quality is maintained.
• Experience with Postgres (or a comparable database).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities along with fluency in AI concepts.
• Nice to have: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, and frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
