This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Oversee the development of significant team-oriented projects and engage in cross-team initiatives related to Remote's HR and Payroll products.
• Actively engage in product work within the team: offer feedback, propose solutions to challenges, and leverage technical insights to recommend product enhancements.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the team's domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Contribute to the collective codebase.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and business challenges.
• Participate in activities outside of the team, including support rotations, the hiring process, RFC discussions, and more.
• Mentor and guide fellow engineers.
• Research, propose, and take part in implementing platform improvements.
• Design interfaces with a focus on performance, accessibility, and API architecture.
• Redefine the process of how engineering work is delivered, making autonomous agents the standard execution layer.
• Propose and implement agentic workflows from end to end (specification → planning → execution → verification) to accelerate outcomes.
• Develop reusable agentic workflows and core components in the codebase for teams to utilize across different domains.
• Employ verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to ensure outcomes are accurate, secure, dependable, and scalable.
• Solid engineering principles and a proven history of delivering production systems that are secure, dependable, and scalable.
• Hands-on experience in designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and enhancing them through iterations.
• Capability to think systemically: define specifications clearly, decompose plans, implement verification, and ensure quality closure.
• Experience with Postgres (or a comparable database).
• Familiarity with CI/CD (GitLab, Github, Jenkins, or similar tools).
• Demonstrates strong automation skills and fluency in AI technologies.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes (a plus).
• Experience with Docker (a plus).
• Familiarity with AWS (a plus).
• Experience with Next.js (a plus).
• Knowledge of React/Vue/Angular (a plus).
