This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Africa.
• Oversee the execution of significant team-oriented projects and engage in cross-team endeavors related to Remote's HR and Payroll offerings.
• Actively engage in product-related tasks within the team: offer insights, propose solutions to challenges, and leverage technical knowledge to recommend product enhancements.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Contribute to the collective codebase.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and business-related challenges.
• Participate in activities beyond the team scope, such as support rotations, the hiring process, RFC discussions, and more.
• Mentor and guide fellow engineers.
• Explore, propose, and engage in the implementation of enhancements to our platform.
• Design interfaces with a focus on performance, accessibility, and API architecture.
• Reconceive the process of how engineering tasks are executed with autonomous agents as the standard execution layer.
• Suggest and implement agentic workflows from start to finish (specification → planning → execution → verification) to expedite outcomes.
• Develop reusable agentic workflows and primitives within the codebase to enable teams to utilize them repeatedly across various domains.
• Employ verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to confirm that results are accurate, secure, dependable, and scalable.
• Strong engineering principles and a proven history of delivering production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Hands-on experience in designing or implementing agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and refining them through iterations.
• Capacity to think systemically: articulate specifications clearly, decompose plans, implement verification, and ensure quality closure.
• Proficiency with Postgres (or comparable systems).
• Familiarity with CI/CD (GitLab, Github, Jenkins, or similar tools).
• Exhibits strong automation and AI skills, along with fluency in AI concepts.
• Nice to have: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, React/Vue/Angular.
