Senior Backend Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Assist in advancing the backend architecture of Roof’s systems.

• Participate in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team that prioritizes doing things 'the right way.'

• Make a meaningful contribution in an early-stage company with an engineering-first culture.

• Engage in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, from planning through to delivery.

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to determine technical requirements.

• Write clean code to create functional web applications and reusable libraries.

• Develop unit, functional, and acceptance tests.

• Diagnose and provide support for production applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• Strong proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework.

• A proponent of agile methodologies who enjoys deploying code frequently and with confidence.

• Proven ability to deconstruct complex problems into incremental solutions.

• Actively suggests initiatives to enhance our engineering technologies and culture.

• Thrives in a collaborative environment where mutual growth is encouraged.

• Takes responsibility for the product and takes pride in the quality of their work.

• Excellent communication skills with an appreciation for effective documentation.

• Understands the challenges associated with priorities in an early-stage company.

• We are particularly interested in candidates with skills in DevOps, Big Data/Data Science, Machine Learning, and GIS.
