Senior Backend Engineer, Communications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Hostaway is in search of a driven Senior Backend Engineer to become part of our Communications team.

• This team oversees the Unified Inbox module, which enhances communication between Guests and Hosts through various channels (email, SMS, WhatsApp, OTA messages, etc.).

• Senior Backend Engineers at Hostaway are vital in architecting, developing, maintaining, and advancing the robust, scalable, and secure backend systems that support user-facing functionalities.

• You will collaborate closely with your cross-functional team to take full ownership and deliver solutions that meet genuine customer needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in SaaS software development (working on live production products).

• Strong proficiency in PHP and/or Golang, with a keen willingness to engage with both languages.

• Experience in designing and creating RESTful web APIs.

• Familiarity with transitioning to event-driven, service-oriented architectures through the application of Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles.

• Experience in writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests.

• Proficient in monitoring and supporting software in production.

• Background in working within a Cloud environment (AWS experience is a plus).

• Familiarity with message queues (e.g., AWS SQS) is advantageous.

• Proficient in English at a C1 level.
