Senior Backend Engineer, Camunda

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain BPMN workflows and DMN decision tables that manage cross-system processes.

• Create and enhance Java/Spring Boot services that integrate with the Camunda engine as workers, listeners, and connection points.

• Collaborate with stakeholders in lab operations, clinical, and product teams to convert requirements into effective automated workflows.

• Diagnose and improve ongoing processes, closely collaborating with DevOps on aspects of reliability, observability, and performance.

• Engage in code reviews, architectural discussions, and promote engineering best practices within the team.

• Develop automated tests and take part in CI/CD pipelines to deploy changes securely and regularly.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering focused on building production systems.

• Practical experience with Camunda BPM (Camunda 7 or 8) in a production environment.

• Proficient in BPMN 2.0 and DMN for modeling business processes and decision-making logic.

• Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, coupled with substantial experience in designing Spring Boot services.

• Experience in integrating workflows with REST APIs, messaging systems, and relational databases.

• Comfortable working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the skill to translate complex business rules into clean, testable code.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
