Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and scale a secure execution platform for managing both internal and external code workloads.

• Create backend services and APIs that oversee execution workflows, including scheduling, monitoring, cancellation, logging, and reporting.

• Architect isolated and sandboxed environments equipped with robust security measures and resource quota management.

• Ensure high levels of system reliability, resilience, and horizontal scalability in response to increasing workloads.

• Integrate execution services with data platforms, analytics frameworks, and machine learning workflows.

• Collaborate with product managers, platform teams, and fellow engineers to provide a seamless developer experience.

• Promote engineering best practices concerning observability, performance enhancement, scalability, and execution safety.

• Participate in technical architecture discussions and mentor junior engineers as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience, ideally in distributed systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering.

• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or a similar language.

• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.

• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of secure code execution, sandboxing, and resource isolation methodologies.

• Familiarity with distributed job queues and orchestration systems like Celery, Airflow, Kubernetes Jobs, or similar tools.

• Demonstrated capability to construct scalable, observable, and fault-tolerant systems.

• Strong skills in problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration.
